Mother's Day

Hi my name is Emma, I’m really happy to be with you today at EYFS Home. I’m a teacher and an artist who loves doing fun arts and craft activities. Today’s activities are all about Mother’s Day. People who look after us are so special to us, they might be our mums or dad’s or other special people in our lives who we like to give lovely gifts too. So why not join in and make someone’s day really special.

Make a Mother's Day Card for Someone Special

Let’s have a look at making an ‘I love you this much’ card. This activity is perfect for giving that special someone a BIG hug.

This is the perfect gift to celebrate someone special in your life. You may want to give it to mummy, nanny or someone special in our lives.

This supports children’s creativity, expressive arts and design and PSED.

Make a Bunch of Paper Flowers

In the spring time we see lots of beautiful flowers and everyone loves receiving flowers.

This is the perfect gift to celebrate someone special in your life. You may want to give it to mummy, nanny or someone special in our lives.

This supports children’s creativity, expressive arts and design and PSED.

Five Special Things

What a beautiful day to do our Mother’s Day activities. I love doing handprint crafts, they are so special and they show the ones we love how much we really appreciate them. Let’s think of five things that we love about mum and write them down. Now let’s write and draw about mum on our handprint craft.

Talk to your child about the special qualities that they see in you/ their mum or someone special in their lives.

This supports children’s communication and language, PSED and creativity too.

Happy Mother's Day Song

I love singing, I hope you do too. I’ve got a really lovely song for us to learn. Why not join in when you’re ready?

Join in with your child and sing along with Emma. Talk about how singing makes us feel. What do we notice? This supports children’s expressive arts and design and PSED.
