Today’s Activities

You can do any of these tasks, in any order (but we've suggested a timetable).
Take as long as your little ones want for each task, let them use their imaginations!

Please share your creations with us on social media.

Sort it out Day

Hello children, Jude, Lamby and Flossie would like to welcome you to 'Sort it Out Day'. We've got lots of fun activities planned so come and join in.

It's good to have a sort out every now and then. Over the last few weeks, some of our things have got in a bit of a muddle so we're going to sort them out. We've also got some fun sorting activities too. See you soon.

9.30am Activity:
The Clothes Box

Oh dear! Lamby's clothes are in a bit of a mess. We need to sort them out and fold them all properly. Do your toys need to sort their clothes out? Can you put all the tops together, all the dresses together and make sure everything is neat again?

Grown Ups:

Encourage your children to sort out their toys' clothes (or their own). Discuss how you will sort them out ie t-shirts together, trousers together etc. How will you decide what to put where? Use language such as sort, organise, fold, pile, clothing names etc.

Develops - Communication & Language, Maths and Physical skills.

10.30am Activity:
The Button Tin

I love sorting out buttons. This button tin used to belong to my Grandma and I still use it now. I like to sort my buttons by colour or whether they are shiny or by how many thread holes they have. You can do this too.

Grown Ups:

Encourage your child to discuss their ideas. How will they sort the buttons out. Use language such as colour names, pattern, size, sort, pile, together, the same, different.  A button tin can keep children occupied for hours!

Develops - Physical, Communication & Language and Maths skills

1:30pm Activity:
A Sort it Picture

I love sorting out shells and pebbles so I can make a picture. You can try this too.

Grown Ups:
Encourage your children to choose some objects (pebbles, stones, shells) and sort them out so they can make a picture with them. Develops - Physical, Creative and PSHE skills.

2:30pm Activity:
Colouring Fun

We have done lots of colouring over the last few weeks so we need to check all our pens are working. We're going to sort them out and then put them into different colour groups and then make a colourful pattern picture.

Grown Ups:
Help your children to check whether your felt tips or colouring pencils work. Create piles for working/not working/need sharpening and then for the different colours. You may need to help younger children take their pen for a walk.  This is very therapeutic so you may enjoy doing it too.

Use language such as - working, not working, sort, recycle, sharpen, colour names, pattern.

Develops -  PSHE, Communication & Language.

If you've finished these and still have time for fun...

What else could you sort out? It's a great way to encourage children to look after their things and develop creative ways of playing with them.

Story time:
Sort it out Squirrel

Snuggle up for our bedtime story 'Sort it out Squirrel'. It looks like Squirrel needed to join in with our activities today as well!
