Bring Your Teddy to work day

Hello children, Jude, Lamby and Flossie would like to welcome you to 'Bring Your Teddy to Work Day'. Grab your teddy and join us for a day of fun.

Today it's Bring Your Teddy to Work Day. Lamby has brought his teddy Red Ted along for the day. Have you got a teddy to bring along for the day? We're going to have lots of fun singing a song, having a Teddy Bear's Picnic and doing some Teddy Bear maths.

There were Six in the Bed

You might know this song already. It's really good fun and it teaches us about taking away and finding out how many are left. Can you find 6 teddies or toys to join you for the song?

Encourage your children to join in with the song. Before each verse count how many teddies/toys there are. As we roll over, remove one teddy/toy and count how many are left. Use language such as how many, left, take away, less, count, number names.

Develops - Communication & Language, PSHE and Maths skills.

Sorting Our Teddies

We are going to sort our teddies according to their attributes. That's a big word isn't it? It can mean sorting your teddies by different sizes, different colours, whether they have clothes or not. You can sort your teddies out too. I wonder how you'll do it.

Encourage your children to join in with the song. Before each verse count how many teddies/toys there are. As we roll over, remove one teddy/toy and count how many are left. Use language such as how many, left, take away, less, count, number names.

Develops - Communication & Language, PSHE and Maths skills.

Teddy's Bear Picnic

Red Ted loves a picnic. Let's take our teddies on a picnic. We need to make sure they've all got plates and cups and we need to share the food out fairly so everyone gets the same.

Encourage your children to find the right number of cups, saucers and plates for the picnic. Encourage your children to share out some snacks so all the teddies/toys get the same amount.  Use language such as picnic, saucer, cup, plate, share, fair, the same, same amount, equal. Develops - Language & Communication, Maths and Understanding the World skills.

Teddy Bear Teddy Bear Turn around

We're going to do a little action song with Red Ted. Can you join in with the words and the actions?

Encourage your child to join in with the song and actions. You can think of your own actions if you like. Use language such as - around, ground, high, sky, action, nose, toes, song, join in.

Develops -  Communication & Language, Physical and Maths skills.
