British Wild Animals Day

My name is Rachel and I have my own musical company called Music Minors. Today we are going to explore British wild animals. We will be talking about the animals we can see in the British countryside, making pictures, masks and going on an animal hunt too.

Making a Natural Picture

Using the hedgehog template can you make a natural picture? Go out into the garden and find sticks, grass, cuttings from plants and make a lovely natural picture. Follow Rachel as she guides you in making this picture. Make sure you get lots of natural bits from your garden.

You need:

Paper

PVA glue

Paint brush

Sticks

Grass

Plants and cuttings

You can draw your own woodland animal of your choice and enjoy decorating them. This activity inspires children’s creativity and knowledge and understanding of the world.

5 Little Speckled Frog Song

Sing this song with Rachel, learn counting and different actions.

You need:

Paper

PVA glue

Paint brush

Sticks

Grass

Plants and cuttings

You can draw your own woodland animal of your choice and enjoy decorating them. This activity inspires children’s creativity and knowledge and understanding of the world.

Making a Fox Mask

Using the fox template you can decorate your fox mask with colouring pencils or pens. Or even paint it if you’d like.

Rachel shows you how to make the mask and how to attach a stick or lollipop stick to hold it to your face. The children can be imaginative and creative with the colours of the fox. Use the mask to bring your fox to life and role play about woodland animals with your child. This activity supports children’s creativity and imagination.

Going on a Wild Animal hunt

Using the attachment, follow Rachel and go on an animal hunt around Rachel’s garden. Can you spot and identify all the animals in her garden?

Tick the animals off as you go on an adventure in the garden with Rachel. Have you seen any of these animals before? Where did you see them? This activity supports children’s knowledge and understanding of the world.
