Children's Health Day

Hi Everyone! My name is Charlotte, I am 20 years old and I live in Leeds.  I’m very excited to be here at EYFS Home today as I am going to be teaching you all about health. Taking care of our health is so important as it makes us live a strong, happy life!

Today we are going to learn all about how to take care of our health. I hope you enjoy our day.

Healthy Routines

Welcome to our first activity, which is all about creating healthy routines. In this activity we are going to create a healthy checklist of the day by making a storyboard which is made up of fun pictures. I hope you enjoy creating this with your grown up.

Children learn all about daily activities that support their health. This supports their language and communication about looking after their bodies. It is also a lovely way to talk together with your child about setting daily routines and being creative together.

Healthy Teeth

In this activity we are going to learn how to keep our teeth healthy! This is important as it prevents us from getting poorly. In this activity use the teeth template attached or draw your own. Watch the video to learn about what makes our teeth healthy and unhealthy.

Getting Exercise

Join me as I take a walk through nature. Walking is good to do every day as it makes your heart and brain healthy. It also releases something called endorphins which can make us feel happy too! Stay fit and healthy by going for a daily walk with a grown-up.

Children learn about the importance of daily exercise and how this helps our bodies physically and mentally. This is a lovely opportunity to spend time together out in nature and talk about how exercise makes our bodies feel.

Healthy Bedtime Routine

Welcome back for our last activity of the day where we are going to learn all about healthy bedtime routines. Watch the video and go through all the steps with me on how to get ready for bed and have a good night’s sleep so that you feel happy and healthy the next morning!

This is a lovely way to end the day, talking with your child about how to be calm and relaxed before bed. The routines help your child to prepare for bedtime and give you quality time together before sleep. It supports children’s physical, personal and emotional development. Story time supports children’s language development as this introduces new words and ideas to them.

Extension

Follow my video on how to clear our minds so that we stay happy and calm! It is good to do this every day to keep a healthy brain.
