Fairytale Day

Hello everyone, I'm Jude and I'm an author and a storyteller. Lamby and Flossie are my storytelling mascots with Little Lamb Tales. We often tell Fairy Tales and we are so excited about today. I wonder if you can guess which tales we'll be telling.

The Three Billy Goats Gruff

I'm going to tell you the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff. Lamby, Alfie and Cordero are going to help me. Can you join in with the actions and words?

Encourage your children to join in with the actions and words throughout the story.

Use language such as once upon a time, long ago, Billy Goats, troll, bridge, cross, mountain, valley, trip trap. Develops - Communication & Language, Creative and Physical skills.

On the Bridge

Can you make a little scene like mine with a river and the bridge? You can use material for the water and boxes or Lego/building bricks for the bridge. Now we're going to explore 'positional language.' This helps us to know where things are or where to put them. Use the positional language cards to place your teddy or toy in the right place.

Encourage your children to join in with the actions and words throughout the story.

Little Red Riding Hood

This time Lamby, Flossie and Lily are helping me to re-tell the story. Can you join in with the actions and words?

Develops - Communication and Language and Creative skills.

Make a Map

I think Little Red Riding Hood needs a map so she doesn't get lost going to Granny's house. Can you make a map for her too? You can share your maps with us on the EYFS social media channels.

Encourage and help your child to draw a map for Little Red Riding Hood. Discuss what she might pass along the way and where it might go on the map. Use language such as - map, path, woods, trees, cottage, directions etc

Develops -  Communication & Language, Creative and Understanding the World skills.
