Get outdoors day
My name is Emma and I am a teacher and an artist. Welcome to ‘Get Outdoors Day’. It’s a beautiful day today and I’m going to do some fun outdoor activities that you can join in at home.
Warm Up Yoga
Let’s start with a warm up.
It is really important to do a warm up before we start to exercise to get our muscles ready. Our heart is the hardest working muscle in the body and warming up is really important.
So let’s get going with our yoga poses.
This activity supports children’s physical development.
Outside Play
Now the weather is getting warmer, it is great to get outdoors and play. Why not bring your toys outside and have some nature themed fun.

Picnic
I am going outside to have a picnic with my friends today. I’ve got all my yummy treats ready in my cool bag and I just need to set up ready.
I am going to take some photos of me and my friend enjoying ourselves. Why not ask your grown up to take some photos of your picnic too, we would love to see them posted on the EYFS Home website and social media.
Outdoor Games
It has been a lovely day here. We've enjoyed getting outdoors and doing fun things.
I think it is time for me to play some games. There are lots of different games you can play outside and here are a few for you to try. You can use household objects to play games just like I have.
This supports children’s physical development.
Extension
Can you think of some more games you can play outside?
Or maybe you'd like to read a book outside?
Or do some drawing outside. Whatever you do, have fun.
