Kindness Day

Hi everyone! I’m Charlotte and I am so excited to be here at EYFS with you today to teach you all about kindness.

Do you know what kindness is?

Kindness is when we are helpful, thoughtful and caring towards others.

I am so excited to help you learn and understand about kindness today through some really fun activities! I hope you enjoy them.

Grown-Ups: Speak to your child about kindness, help them to understand what it means.

Make a Kindness Jar

For our first Activity we are going to make our very own Kindness Jar! This will help us to be kind every day and show how much we care about others.

So get creative and let’s have fun.

Supervise your children with the scissors and help/ show them how to cut out neatly.

Kindness Paper Chain

In this activity, we are going to learn how to make a paper chain which we can add to every time you do something kind. This will encourage us to do as many kind things as possible for others.

You could even use the paper chain to decorate your room!

Supervise your children with the scissors and help/ show them how to cut out neatly.

Kindness Tree

We are now going to make our very own ‘Kindness Tree.’ This tree will help us to realise what kind things our family and friends do for us every day.

Maybe you can then give it to a family member as a present.

Help supervise your child with scissors.

Acts of Kindness

In this activity, we are going to do ‘One Act of Kindness’ for a family member in our own household.

I am going to choose to do this for my boyfriend, Aaron.

You can choose whichever family member you’d like.

Supervise your child with kitchen appliances/ utensils.

Extension

Watch this video made by Ikea to see how mean words can affect plants and people. Watch what happens when people use kind words!
