Hello children. Today we’re going to have fun at the beach! We’re going to listen to a story, go exploring for creatures and then do some drawing and counting. Don’t worry if you don’t live near a beach - you can take part anywhere outdoors!

Making Shapes
Can you make shapes with stones or shells? What patterns and shapes can you make? How many stones did you use for your shape?
Encourage your children to make shapes with your pebbles, shells or other objects. Can they make circles, squares, triangles or rectangles? Develops - mathematical and creative skills.
Drawing
Can you draw the creatures you saw today? Have a go at drawing what you remember and if you need some help ask your grown up!
Children may need assistance with how to draw the things they saw. Help them to remember and offer resources to copy from if they get stuck. Develops - creativity, understanding the world and expressive art and design.
