Self-Esteem Day

My name is Georgie and I am here to take you on a fun-filled day of learning about self-esteem! By the end of the day I want you to feel like you can speak confidently and clearly about all of the amazing things that make you, YOU and why you are so awesome in your own special way!

About Me Poster

In this activity we are going to use pictures, words, and anything you can find to cut and stick on a poster that contains all of your favourite things and makes you, YOU! These materials could be from a magazine, newspaper, photos, drawings or anything else you might fancy.

Dance and Sing

In this activity, we are going to learn a short, little dance to the song ‘Roar’ by Katy Perry, which you are also welcome to sing a long to! I break the movements down slowly, but if you need a bit more time to practise them you can easily rewind the video as many times as you like and re-watch.

Draw Yourself

In this activity we are going to draw ourselves and think about all of the amazing things that make us individual. You can recreate yourself in any way you would like, through paint, pencil or pens, and I want you to make the drawing as bright and vibrant as your personality.

New Skill – Learn How to Sign

In this activity, we will be learning some basic BSL (British Sign Language) signs. The idea behind this is that we can feel good about ourselves for the littlest or biggest achievements and sometimes something as simple as learning one new thing a day can boost our self-esteem. You can easily refresh these signs by re-watching the video or searching them on the BSL website.

Extension

If you have enjoyed learning some sign language, why not learn how to finger spell your name? There is a link to a fingerspelling chart and also a YouTube video where you can learn to fingerspell!
