Father's Day

My name is Sarah and I am a children’s author. Today we are going to make a special card then make a menu for breakfast. We are also going to make breakfast in bed and later on we are going to play a game of charades.

9.30am Activity:
Make a card

Follow Sarah as she shares how to create a card for someone special.

 

Grown Ups:

There is a printable trophy to draw around and cut out. You will need some card, glue and colouring pens.

You can try these activities:

  1. Draw a picture for your special person.
  2. Follow Sarah’s guidance to make a card and decorate.
  3. Make a card and write your name and a special message inside it.
10.30am Activity:
Make a Breakfast Menu

Follow Sarah as she shares how to make a tasty menu for breakfast time.

 

Grown Ups:

You will need some card and colouring pens.

You can try these activities:

  1. Talk with your grown up about what your dad/special person would like for breakfast.
  2. Make a menu using pictures with your grown up.
  3. Make a menu and use words and pictures with your grown up.
1:30pm Activity:
Make Breakfast in Bed

Join Sarah and Eva as they prepare breakfast in bed for Eva’s Daddy.

 

Grown Ups:

You can try these with your child:

  1. Watch a grown up prepare breakfast using the menu you made earlier.
  2. Prepare with a grown up, breakfast using the menu you made earlier.
  3. Organise and prepare breakfast for your dad/special person. Ask your grown up to help you with hot drinks and sharp cutlery.
2:30pm Activity:
Play Charades

Join Sarah, Martyn and Eva to play this well know game.

 

Grown Ups:

You will need to prepare some cards with simple things that children can act out: guitar, bike, sunglasses, cold, hot, ball etc.

You can try these activities:

  1. Choose 2 words to act out to your family.
  2. Choose 3 words to act out to your family.
  3. Each choose 5 words to act out and play together with your family. Each player who guesses the correct word is awarded a point.
