Universal Children's Day

My name is Becky and I am a singer and dancer  from Scotland. I work with young children as a dance teacher. Today, along with my happy helpers: Olivia, Chloe, Carly and Katie, I will be  using my expertise in dance, music and creativity to  celebrate all children during our Universal Children’s Day.

9.30am Activity:
Make a World Flag

Let’s get creative. Welcome to Activity 1 of the day, where we will be using our artistic skills to create a world flag. Celebrating togetherness, love and  happiness to bring the world together. By looking at symbols and colours that represent happiness and unity, we will create our very own 'World Flag'.

10.30am Activity:
Celebrate Our Voices

We all have something that makes us special. Throughout our second activity today, we will discuss  the things we love that make us who we are, and  use that to celebrate our differences. After a  musical demonstration from Becky, the children will  be encouraged to focus on their special trait and put it  into practice. You might be sporty, creative or musical like me. Celebrate together with your child.

1:30pm Activity:
Dance Around the World

During this activity, we will be learning all about how dance across the world can be so different, but that’s what makes it  special! My dancing helpers will demonstrate  different national genres of dance even get the  children up on their feet for some active learning.

2:30pm Activity:
Giving to Others

Now it’s time  for us to think about what we can do to make the  world a better place. This activity helps us to think about how we can help and support others in our community.
